I study the interaction between electromagnetic waves and charged particles in the Earth’s magnetosphere, specifically wave generation and propagation and the effect of waves on energetic electrons and ions. One of my goals is to understand the variability of radiation belts (trapped relativistic electrons) and quantify the effect of wave-particle interaction on the radiation belts.

Research Areas:
Magnetospheric physics
Interaction of electromagnetic waves and energetic charge particles in geospace plasma
Modeling of radiation belt dynamics
Instability and propagation of plasma waves
Applications of plasma waves
