Student Affairs will send seniors out with a bang Wednesday at the second annual Senior Send Off.

The event is scheduled for 7-11 p.m. at Softball Field No. 1. The event is open to the entire University campus community, including non-seniors.

“Senior Send Off is becoming a great tradition here at UT Dallas,” said Briana Lemos, assistant director of fraternity and sorority life and spirit program coordinator. “Last year was such a great success with around 800 people in attendance.

“We have expanded the event to include actual carnival rides, games, and food, and even fireworks in hopes that this year will be an even bigger success.”

Seniors will be able to enter drawings for such prizes as a  Blu-ray disc player, Wii Fit Plus, iPods, gift cards and UT Dallas Alumni gear.

Carnival activities will include carnival rides, games, food, face painting and a balloon artist. A DJ will also be on hand.

Free food will be provided while it lasts: cotton candy, corny dogs, funnel cakes, fries and sodas. The popular Ben & Jerry’s ice cream will also be making a return.

“An end-of-the-year carnival is a great way to bring the campus community together to celebrate our seniors,” said Lemos.

Senior Send Off is part of the Senior Year Experience. The Student Affairs program provides information and resources important to the success of UT Dallas seniors.
