Forty-two UT Dallas student-athletes were honored by the American Southwest Conference when it recently released its Academic All-ASC Teams for the league’s fall sports.

The Comets were well-represented in each of the five fall sports. The women's soccer team led the pack with 13 selections, while the men's soccer team had nine, women's cross country had eight, volleyball had seven and men's cross country had five.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified academically as a sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student during the competition season, and have been in attendance and completed at least one academic year (two consecutive semesters). In addition, he or she must have a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and must be a letter winner in the season to be honored.

Also, the conference honored three UT Dallas student-athletes as Distingushed Scholar Athletes. Men's soccer player Sam Konstanty, volleyball player Michelle Toro and women's cross country runner Lindsey Rayborn earned the recognition.
