Improving employee performance, often the key to an organization’s bottom line, will be the focus of a new certificate seminar series offered by The University of Texas at Dallas’ Executive and Professional Development Program, beginning Aug. 3 on the UT Dallas campus.
The series is being presented in cooperation with the Dallas Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD).
The weekend seminars will be presented once a month over a 12-month period at the UT Dallas Conference Center and must be taken in sequential order. Following each seminar, participants will have a project to complete. Seminar topics include: Introduction to Human Performance Improvement Technology, Analyzing Human Performance, Evaluating Human Performance Interventions, Learning Technologies for Improving Performance, Selecting and Designing Performance Improvement Interventions and Transitioning to Human Performance Technology.
Participants who complete all six seminars and all of the course work within two years will earn a certificate in Human Performance Technology.
R. Jay Phillips, director of UT Dallas’ Executive and Professional Development program, explained that the certificate program for training and human resource development professionals is designed to help participants develop a comprehensive understanding of the human performance technology field. The coursework provides the knowledge, skills and practice to apply human performance technology to the workplace, he said.
