The Center for the Study of Texas Politics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) will host a panel discussion Nov. 15 beginning at 6:45 p.m. about the changing face of Texas politics.

The discussion will last approximately two hours and will take place in the Galaxy Room of the university’s Student Union. The event is free to UTD students, faculty and staff and $15 for all others.

Panelists will include State Reps. Fred Hill, R-Richardson; Helen Giddings, D-Dallas; and Pete Gallego, D-Alpine, and State Sen. Jeff Wentworth, R-San Antonio.

The non-partisan center is housed in the university’s School of Social Sciences and headed by Dr. Greg Thielemann, a political scientist and professor of government, politics and political economy at UTD. The center is dedicated to creating opportunities for citizens to interact with Texas’ leading policymakers and sponsors four policy-driven programs each year on campus.

The panel discussion is the second in a series of four. The first, which was held Sept. 25, attracted an audience of several hundred persons.
