The Naveen Jindal School of Management was ranked 37th among schools offering full-time MBA programs. The school also placed ninth for online business graduate programs.
UT Dallas’ MBA programs have been named among the nation’s top 50 in U.S. News and World Report’s 2014 ranking of graduate schools.
The Naveen Jindal School of Management was 37th among schools offering full-time MBA programs this year, tied with the University of Maryland-College Park and the University of Rochester. Three other Texas universities also made the list, including UT Austin, Texas A&M and Rice University.
The school’s MBA specialty of information systems ranked 15th, and its part-time graduate business programs tied for 38th with Bentley University, Boston College, St. Louis University, and the University of Colorado-Boulder.
In a new category, the school placed ninth out of 213 institutions nationwide for online business graduate programs. The ranking was based on faculty credentials, student engagement, peer opinions, and distance learning services and technology.
UT Dallas’ Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science graduate programs ranked higher than all other engineering schools in the state except UT Austin, Texas A&M University, Rice University and the University of Houston, with which it tied for 76th place nationally with Syracuse University.
The school rose in all specialties in which it was ranked, tying with other schools at 53rd for computer engineering, at 60th in electrical/electronic/communications engineering, and at 59th in materials engineering.
Dr. Denise Paquette Boots conducts research and teaches courses in criminology at UT Dallas. The graduate program was ranked 27th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Other UT Dallas graduate programs ranking in the top 100 this year were criminology at 27th and political science, which tied with other schools at 76th.
The annual U.S. News list evaluates the quality of more than 1,250 U.S. graduate programs based on statistical indicators and assessments by university administrators and faculty.
Two other UT Dallas programs continue to be ranked among the nation’s top 20, as previously surveyed by U.S. News as part of its biannual review of those programs. The University’s audiology program tied for third in 2012, and its speech-language pathology master’s program tied for 11th.
UT Dallas graduate programs in earth sciences and physics rank in the nation’s top 100, as last surveyed in 2010.
