Homecoming Celebrations Color Campus Orange and Green

Olivia Belli and Zain Gaziani were voted king and queen.

Comet pride jumped, ran and danced on campus during the University’s four days of Homecoming activities.

Students kicked off the celebration by making their own mums and spirit gear on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Later, they laced up their running shoes and donned glow-in-the-dark gear for a 5K race around campus.

The next evening belonged to the cheerleaders, Power Dancers, UT Dallas pep band and women’s basketball team, all of whom turned the Activity Center gym into a throng of boisterous orange and green.

From there, students organized a Powder Puff game before starting work on their parade floats.

The floats – actually transformed golf carts – went on procession Friday for the Homecoming Parade down Rutford Avenue.

Saturday was the day for the Annual Alumni Breakfast, Homecoming Tailgate and the women’s basketball team's victorious game against Millsaps College.

A Homecoming Royalty Coronation and dance capped off the events, with Olivia Belli and Zain Gaziani chosen as the Homecoming king and queen.
