A Message from President Benson: International Students at UT Dallas

Dear UT Dallas Community:

Yesterday, a decision was announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to modify the regulations for online courses permitted under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP).

As we have reviewed the information, it appears that these new modifications affect our students with F-1 visas who plan to start or continue study at UT Dallas in the fall semester. Please know that we will do everything possible to help each student remain on track with their studies and to ensure each student graduates from UT Dallas.

For our international students impacted by these regulations, we will work with each of you to make sure that your course schedule meets federal requirements for your F-1 visa.

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) will be providing additional information directly to students in the coming days. Students with questions or concerns should reach out to our dedicated staff in ISSO by emailing [email protected].

This is an important matter for us as a community, and we greatly value what international students bring to our academic and campus life. We will continue to provide updates as we have more information.

Sincerely,
Richard C. Benson signature
