“Nirvana & Nervegas,” an exhibition of paintings by graduate student Luc Sokolowski in partial fulfillment of his Master of Arts degree at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), will open in the Main Gallery of the Visual Arts Building at UTD on June 7 at 6:30 p.m. and will run though June 21.

The paintings included in “Nirvana & Nervegas” create a tension between the written word and gesture by their juxtaposition and interaction on the painted surface. In this way, the work blurs the distinction between the unconsciously made and the consciously made mark.
