Research 101 Series: Informed Consent Goes Virtual - REDCap Guidance, noon-12:45 p.m., Friday, April 23 — This presentation will provide an overview of the REDCap consent form process for human subjects research studies. The IRB Administration will provide guidance on considerations needed to ensure compliance of applicable regulations and policies during the electronic consent process, and the REDCap team will provide guidance for creating the consent form in REDCap. Artificial General Intelligence Is Coming, John Carmack, 2-3 p.m., Monday, April 26 — Artificial intelligence holds the promise to solve some of the world’s most challenging problems and transform mankind as we know it. S.T.E.P.P. UTD and the DFW Research Data Center: Overview and Proposal Development, noon-1 p.m., Wednesday, May 5 — Join the Office of Research for information about its newest internal funding opportunity, the DFW Research Data Center (RDC) Grant. The RDC provides approved researchers access to restricted microdata from the Census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the National Center for Health Statistics, among others. Having access to the center allows investigators to conduct research at lower levels of geography and with larger sample sizes than is otherwise possible. During this session, subject matter experts will outline the project development process and introduce a seed grant opportunity connected with this outstanding resource.
